"Guess what! You know what? Guess what!"

Welcome Tech Crew!
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is rapidly approaching opening weekend. With that in mind, we’d like for you to start coming to rehearsals. Brian Hanley and I have been working hard to prepare the technical elements, scoping out the stage and setting up positions and duties that need to be assigned. But first, it’s important that you come and see the work that has been done so that you can get started.
The cast is off script and there is plenty of work to be done before tech week starts. As rehearsals carry on, it is our job work together with the actors, tackling the technical aspects as they develop the performance. Just like the cast's job, your job as crew members is to make this show as good as it can be and to work out all the kinks. As Mr. Kenney, our moderator, would say: "There are no wrong answers, just many different solutions". This production is a learning experience and I do not expect anyone to come in with all the answers, just a good attitude and willingness to assist in anyway. If you do have any experience with a particular technical area – construction, paint, sound, etc. - please let me know as soon as possible so we can best utilize your skills.

Our first tech crew day is currently set for Thursday, July 15th at 1:00p.m.. We practice at St. Ursula in the big gym and to avoid distracting the cast members as they practice we will be outside or in the halls. Please plan to arrive for practice on time so we don't waste each other's time.
Feel free to stop by a rehearsal before that to get to know the cast! You are always welcome, and don't hesitate to bring a notepad to start contributing ideas with our technical team to make this production even better! A calendar will be posted soon.
